Notary Certificates

In order for a notarization to be valid it will need a notary certificate. However, most of the time your document will not come with the certificate attached. As notaries we are unable to choose which certificate may best fit your situation. Below, I've provided the 5 most common notary certificates and their descriptions.  These certificates are also available on the Oregon Secretary of State notary webpage.

When the notary determines that the copy is a full, true and accurate transcription or reproduction of the record or item. Please be aware: the notary is the one who is responsible for making the copy. 

This is a declaration by an individual before a notary that the individual has signed a record for the purpose stated in said record. 

Similar to the individual acknowledgement above, the signer is signing on behalf of a third party.

A written declaration made by an individual on oath or affirmation that a statement in a record is true. Also known as a Jurat and may be part of an affidavit.
